Withington Library was one of the first libraries in Manchester to have a young people’s reading room. The historic purpose-built library opened its doors in 1927 and has served the community ever since.

In 2018 the library was refurbished and all original features were restored, making the space more useful and comfortable. Even with the formal, classical façade, we love that the interior of the library has a really friendly and relaxed vibe. Just like Forum Library Wythenshawe, Withington offers an Open Plus service for registered Open Plus service users. During Open Plus hours, there are no staff available, but registered users are able to use all of the library facilities.

All of Manchester's libraries have restricted and changing opening hours due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions; check with individual libraries for opening times before you set out.
