Fancy a peek behind the scenes to learn more about production careers in Theatre?
The cast and crew of Mary Poppins and Palace and Opera House Creative Learning team are welcoming young people aged 13 – 18 from Manchester to the Palace Theatre to learn more about what they do.
This event will lift the curtain on hidden careers within the touring theatre industry, and will support young people taking part to experience backstage like never before. You will hear from industry experts in the Stage Management, Lighting Sound, Wardrobe and Wigs, and Automation teams at Mary Poppins all about their theatre-jobs, and find out more about how the show comes together with a talk and Q&A led by Company Management.
This event is aimed at young people, aged 13 – 18 and their guardians, to learn more about a theatre career from amazing professionals visiting the Palace Theatre with Mary Poppins.

This event is free to access, however places are very limited.
When is it? Saturday morning on 3rd May 2025 (exact time tbc).
Where is it? Meet at the main entrance: Palace Theatre Manchester, 97 Oxford St, Manchester, M1 6FT, UK
How do I sign up? To apply to attend the event, please sign up directly with Palace Theatre and Opera House Creative Learning using this link to the registration form. The team at Creative Learning will be in touch to confirm your place no later than Wednesday 30 April.

- Places are limited so please sign up in advance. We may close the form early if we get lots of replies.
- This event is 13 – 18 (and guardians*) If you are under 18, please get a guardian to complete the form with you as we need to know your emergency contact information and some other details, including permissions.

- Please be aware that this event is a Creative Learning open morning with the Mary Poppins cast and crew but does not include a ticket to see the show.
- The spaces around the theatre where this event takes place are only accessible by stairs.
