3 things you need to know before you apply
1. Proof that you live in Greater Manchester
Take a photo, scan, or colour copy of an official letter showing your address and the letterhead. These are accepted proofs:
- National Insurance letter
- Letter or statement from your bank or building society
- Letter about tax credits or child benefit (in which the applicant is named)
- Provisional or full driving licence. (If not already used for proof of your date of birth)
Other documents are accepted but may take longer to process. LINK TO FAQS
2. You will need to take a photo
Once you have started the application take a clear passport style photo of just your head and shoulders, against a plain background. Blurry or copied photos won’t work. Make sure there are no objects or other people in the background, try to take it in a light setting and having nothing covering your face.
3. You will need to make a payment
There is a £10 admin charge, so you’ll need a valid payment method. Apple Pay and Google Pay are available, however, if you are using your parent or carers payment card, you must have permission to use it first.
