The building work has started on the Manchester Jewish Museum and is scheduled for completion in 2021. Until then you can find a temporary ‘pop up’ Jewish museum in Manchester Central Library. Head to the ‘pop up’ Jewish museum for uniquely Jewish stories – rooted in Manchester – more relevant now than ever before.
The ambitious building development project will see the museum double in size, with the addition of new galleries, learning spaces and a shop built in an extension, connected to the existing building by a glass bridge. There will also be a new cafe serving delicious hot Jewish cuisine.
The Manchester Jewish Museum has always been at the heart of the community in Cheetham Hill and has hosted a variety of different events from food tasting to Bollywood concerts. We’re looking forward to visiting the redeveloped museum when it reopens next year.
