What Apprenticeships have you completed?
I have done three apprenticeships in total. They were in Social Media Marketing, Creative Digital and Art & Design. All of my apprenticeships were at Level 3.
What made you decide to take the apprenticeship route?
I never enjoyed school or the theory side of things, always enjoyed the practical / creative aspects of everything and I knew doing an apprenticeship meant I was working an actual day-to-day job and learning as I worked – of course getting paid was a bonus too.
How has doing an apprenticeship helped you in your current career?
If I didn’t do an apprenticeship I wouldn’t be where I am now, with the skills and confidence that I’ve gained over the years, working on live client work from the beginning has helped me to step out of my comfort zone and realise that graphic design, photography and video editing are possible routes for my career path.
What advice would you give to somebody considering applying for an apprenticeship?
I’d say to just go for it, doing an apprenticeship enabled me to try so many different things to see what it was that I enjoyed.
Apart from Our Pass what other clients have worked with?
In my time at SharpFutures I’ve created graphics, videos and animations for companies such as BBC, ITV and Channel 4 as well as working regularly for The Sharp Project, Space Studios Manchester and Screen Manchester, developing their brands and marketing materials.
