Download the Bee Network app to start your application
Once youâve downloaded the app and set up your account you will be able to:
- Easily apply through the app
- Come back to your application anytime within two weeks
- See the progress of your application in the Bee Network app, including when it has been approved or if you need to add any further information
- (if successful) youâll get free bus travel within Greater Manchester plus half price selected tram tickets.
Youâll always have your pass to hand on your phone, no worrying about losing your card! Just make sure you have enough charge for your journeys.
Please ensure you apply using the phone and Bee Network account you intend your digital pass to be on.

- Once downloaded, set up your account on the Bee Network app
- Go to the account section and select Our Pass
- Follow the steps to fill in your information and upload relevant documents
- Once submitted, return to your account at any time to see the progress.
Please note that you will be charged a non-refundable administration fee of ÂŁ10 when applying for Our Pass. This fee will not be refunded if your application is rejected.
Using Our Pass on the Bee Network app
What do I need to do for free bus travel?
First, you will need to make sure you are on the latest version of the Bee Network app. Next, you will need to activate your Our Pass QR code, which will lock to your chosen device, so make sure you download it on the device you will be using to travel. You must have a Wi-Fi or a data connection to activate your Our Pass for free bus travel.
Once active, simply present the QR code to the bus ticket machine every time you board a bus in Greater Manchester. To avoid being mistakenly charged an adult tap and go fare, make sure it is the QR code that is presented on the bus and not the Pass ID.
Showing your Pass ID, or having a payment card stored in the back of your phone may trigger a contactless payment, which could result in being charged for your journey. Make sure you remove any cards from your phone case.
Do I need mobile data to use my Our Pass on the Bee Network app?
You must have a Wi-Fi or a data connection to activate your Our Pass for free bus travel, or to buy discounted Metrolink tickets. After this you can save your data and tap on whenever you travel.
What if my phone runs out of battery?
Make sure your phone has charge for your full journey. Youâll need to tap on and be able to show your pass ID and ticket to an inspector. Otherwise, youâll need to pay for a full price ticket, or risk being charged a standard penalty fare.
How do I get 50% off my tram ticket with the app?
With your Our Pass ID, you can now access half-price off-peak 1-day and weekend Metrolink travelcards through the Bee Network app. You can find these by going to tickets, buy tickets, select tram and the duration and youâll find the discounted tickets available to you under âyoung personâ.
If you are unable to see the discounted tickets at first, you may need to log out and log back in to refresh the list of tickets.
Off-peak travel begins at 9.30am on weekdays, and all day at weekends and bank holidays.

What if I want to move from digital pass ID to physical card?
If you need to switch to a physical card there will be a ÂŁ10 administration charge when re-applying and your digital pass will be deactivated. Please reach out to the customer services team on 0161 244 1000, available from Monday to Friday 7am â 8pm and on weekends and Bank Holidays from 8am to 8pm.
What if I want to move from physical card to digital pass ID?
If you need to switch to a digital pass, there will be a ÂŁ10 administration charge when re-applying, please note your card will be deactivated and no longer valid. Please reach out to the customer services team on 0161 244 1000, available from Monday to Friday 7am â 8pm and on weekends and Bank Holidays from 8am to 8pm.
I have an Our Pass in the Bee Network app, how do I register for Exclusives?
You will need to wait 24-48 hours after your Our Pass ID goes live, before signing up for Exclusives. When signing up you need the email you registered to the Bee Network app and your Our Pass ID number, which you will find below your picture in the app.
