Built in 1913, Withington Baths and Leisure Centre has been an integral part of Withington community life for the past 100 years. With a rich history - the centre was the first in Manchester to allow male and female bathing - very progressive for its time.
In more recent years the centre has become a booming community hub and a fine example of the power of community. When the centre was threatened with closure in 2013, the local community joined together in a period of peaceful protest and petitioning and managed to overturn the decision to close the centre.
Now, this bustling community leisure centre is even busier than ever. Run as a charitable trust, all profits are put back into restoring and maintaining the building, pool and grounds.
With a full fitness class timetable, completely refurbished gym and iconic pool, we hope that the centre continues to thrive for another 100 years.
